Riedel Glass originated in Bohemia 250 years ago, but after World War II re-located to a small village near Innsbruck, Austria. Whereas in the past, fashion in wine glasses had been dictated by aesthetics, not function, the Riedel family introduced the revolutionary concept that crystal stemware be shaped and sized to enhance specific types of wine.
